Beginners’ classes
Beginners’ classes
Although you’ll be welcome at any Scottish country dance class, there are some classes designed specifically for new dancers. Beginners’ classes will teach you the main dance steps (there are only five) and simple formations used in many Scottish country dances.
You don’t need a partner or any special clothes or footwear to start Scottish country dancing. Loose, comfortable clothes and comfortable flat shoes are fine.
Most importantly, come along with a sense of humour and a preparedness to make mistakes – we all do!
